Our new Age UK livery

We rely on generous donations of items from you, the general public. Donating to Age UK Milton Keynes is a great way to help the environment by re-using goods instead of sending them to landfill sites.

As long as it is not broken, is in a safe and reasonable condition and you think someone else could make good use of it we will accept most items of furniture -see info about fire labels and exceptions below.

We can collect furniture and larger items from your home in the Milton Keynes area. Please telephone 01908 263838 or complete and submit the electronic form at the bottom of this page.

Please remember, we are a charity and sell second-hand furniture to help fund our services – all items must be in a saleable condition and soft furnishings need to have their fire label still attached.

  • beds and mattresses must have a blue sewn-in fire label
  • easy chairs and sofas must have a red sewn-in fire label

We regret we are no longer able to accept:

  • any type of television or computer monitor whether working or not
  • washing machines and gas cookers.

We do accept:

  •  electric cookers
  • dishwashers
  • fully working laptop computers
  • fridges and fridge freezers that are fully working

Landfill legislation means we are not allowed to dispose of unsaleable equipment locally. Paying huge disposal costs for items that do not pass our stringent electronic testing means we cannot risk taking goods that do not work. The MK Council sites at Bleak Hall, New Bradwell and Newport Pagnell will still accept unwanted televisions and monitors from local householders.

We have lots of collectables in our furniture stores.

We never know what will come in next or what will sell immediately. Thanks to the generosity of several well-known national retailers we nearly always have brand new items of furniture amongst the interesting, used items.

If you would like us to contact you to arrange collection of any large items please complete the form below.
